The CDPAP program allows you to get paid to care for your family member, friend, or neighbor. You and your loved one can choose the best hours for providing care, and you make a stable income. It is also possible to receive vacation and sick pay as additional benefits.

You do not need experience or certification to work. Silver Lining will train and prepare you to be a Personal Assistant (PA). The only requirement is that your neighbor, friend or family member must be on Medicaid.

HOME HEALTH AIDES

Position Summary:
Silver Lining Homecare Agency is looking for Home Health Aides (HHA) who are licensed to provide personal care, home management and other related home health supportive services to individuals living in their home environment when there are disruptions due to illness, disability, social disadvantage or other problems in the home.

All HHAs are under the direct supervision of licensed nurses.

Qualifications:

        • Successful completion of a New York State Department of Health approved Home Health Aide training program as demonstrated by holding a valid Home Health Aide Certificate.
        • Ability to speak, read and write in English sufficiently to understand and interpret the HHA Plan of Care, document care provided on the HHA Time and Activity report, and able to call the agency to report the change and/or issues related to the patient and/or 911 in case of an emergency.
        • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
        • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
        • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Physical Demands:

Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force
frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Equipment Operation:

Walker, Cane, Crutches, Wheelchair, Commode, Hospital Bed, Hoyer Lift, Household appliances (i.e.
vacuum, refrigerator, stove, blender, toaster, etc.)

Work Hours:

Flexible, Part-Time or Full-Time
